The top deck as it originally looked before the addition of the shelter. Passengers could walk all the way to the front and look over the top of the bridge.
Captain S. Cowin came up shortly after the photograph was taken because Ted Capstick who was with me had shoes on with segs on. They were making such a noise that they were heard below on the bridge.
The house flag at half mast was flown because Captain Vernon Kinley had died earlier in the week. King Orry flew her stern flag at half mast as did the flag on Imperial Buildings in Douglas. (Photo: © Dave Worth)
